Third candidate for dean of the College of Pharmacy

Paul O. Gubbins

Paul O. Gubbins is the associate dean for the University of Missouri—Kansas City School of Pharmacy at Missouri State University and vice chair and professor in the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Administration. He earned his Pharm.D. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Pharmacy. He then completed the two-year clinical pharmacy residency program at the Albert B. Chandler Medical Center at the University of Kentucky. He returned UIC and completed a two-year fellowship in infectious diseases pharmacotherapy. Gubbins’ research focus is on the scholarship of teaching and learning in pharmacy and health education among college students. He has produced nearly 70 peer reviewed publications and 20 book chapters.

Second candidate for dean of the College of Pharmacy

Michelle A. Chui

Michelle A. Chui is the Hammel-Sanders Distinguished Professor in the Social and Administrative Sciences Division in the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy and the director of the Sonderegger Research Center for Improved Medication Outcomes. She is co-director of the University of Wisconsin Institute for Clinical and Translational Research TL1 program and co-director of the Collaborative Center for Health Equity. She graduated from Creighton University with her PharmD, and Purdue University with her PhD. Chui’s research focuses on applying human factors engineering approaches to improving medication safety in the outpatient setting. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters. She has been continuously funded by AHRQ since 2010. She has mentored over 40 successful trainees, including junior faculty, graduate students, TL1 and KL2 trainees, residents, and pharmacy students.

First candidate for dean of the College of Pharmacy

Jill M. Kolesar

Jill M. Kolesar is a university research professor in the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy and the Dr. Michael Karpf Endowed Chair in Precision Medicine. She also holds administrative positions as the co-leader of the Translational Oncology Program at the Markey Cancer Center and a joint appointment in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. Kolesar received her PharmD degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where she also completed a specialty practice residency in oncology/hematology and a fellowship in molecular oncology pharmacotherapy. She received an MS in epidemiology with an emphasis in genetic epidemiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, College of Medicine and Public Health in 2016. She has extensive experience in oncology drug development and precision medicine. Kolesar has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed research articles and as a principal investigator she has received more than $15M in research funding from the National Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society, and other sources.
